On Friday night we were able to briefly test our machine in the arena. We were very pleased to see how well our scoop worked and that we had sufficient torque to rotate the arm even with several ping pongs on top of it. Our machine was also able to drive back and forth with ease on the top table of the arena. We encountered only one issue while testing (an axle was loose in one of the sun gears) which was quickly remedied. We should only need a few slight modifications before our machine is ready for competition.
During the three hours of testing this coming week, we plan to all take turns controlling the car in the arena. Based on our individual performances, we will as a group pick the person who will control our machine during the seeding and competition processes.
